Watching Tennis

15 March 2008 One Comment

Today the weather was spectacular. It was almost 90 degrees, blue skies, and a nice warm breeze. I wanted to get out and do some people watching. I could do the obvious and go to the mall. That didn’t really sound appealing. So I went to Starbucks for some coffee. The only problem is, it was dead. There was a total of 6 people there. There was two guys on their laptops, an Afro-American couple chatting in the corner, and two older white women. I couldn’t believe it. How could a North Plano Starbucks be dead during prime time of the day.  I stayed for a 30 minutes, hoping that some beautiful women would come in for coffee.  It never happened.  So, I decided to try a different approach.  I went to the Carrollton Tennis Center.  On Friday it’s mixed doubles day.

My choice was superb.  When I got there, the parking lot was full.  There are about 12 tennis courts.  There were junior lessons on a couple of the courts, but the rest had adults.  I must say, the tennis skirt is a great thing.  The women love to show off their tan and their legs.  I watched 4 different games on 3 different courts.  I do enjoy sports, but I also enjoy people watching.  The couple women I had a chance to talk to were very cheerful and energetic.  I had a chance to meet a few nice people that invited me to come out and play next week.  I compare the tennis center to the golf course.  There are usually women there, who have nothing else to do but socialize.  That means they are upscale, well dressed, educated and sometimes single.  I think I’ll dust off my tennis racquet and start playing.  It could be a great way to meet some lovely ladies.
