Well it’s been over 6 months since I’d spoken to KG35.  KG35 and I have dated off and on for over a year previously.  I use the word date casually.  It’s consisted of us going for drinks, maybe getting something eat and always ended up spending the night together.  Recently, We began to talk after I sent her a Happy Mother’s Day message.  This interaction has lead to us planning to meet for drinks.  Today was that day. 

We’ve decided to have Mexican food at Uncle Julio’s.  The weather on this Saturday afternoon was great for lunch on the patio.  I arrived early and began to have drinks at the bar. I wasn’t in the mood for Margarita’s, so I ordered Hurricane’s.  It didn’t take long before 2 women and a teenager sat down at the bar next to me.  Two beautiful women waiting for the rest of their friends to arrive for lunch.  It didn’t take long before they noticed my drink and decided to order Hurricane’s also.  It just seemed to be the perfect drink for this humid weather.  Before long the 4 of us were having a conversation.  The blond next to me was discussing some of the exercise classes at her gym.  We both work out at the same gym.  She lives in Rockwall, which is long drive to work out in this part of town.  She was social and flirty.  I’ve never seen her before, but I’ll be looking for her face next time at the gym.  When their friends arrived they left for their table.  It wasn’t long after that when KG35 showed up.  It seemed like it’s been years since we’ve laid eyes on each other.  KG35 is a green eyed blond.  She’s 5′3″ tall with shoulder length hair, and medium build.  The first thing I noticed is she appears to have lost weight.  She had a big smile on her face and gave me a huge hug.  Everything seemed to be the same as it was in the past.  We got seated at a patio table.  KG35 is a beer drinker.  So she ordered her usual beer in a cold frosty mug.  Our conversation was the typical conversation for 2 people who haven’t seen each other in a few months.  Nothing has really changed for either of us.  She’s still busy with school and kids.  She’s curious about my dating.  Am I dating anyone serious yet?  Nope.  She’s not dating any either.  She’s social, but not easy to get close to romantically.  So this doesn’t surprise me.  By this time we’re both on our second round of drinks and we order food.  Fajitas were on our mind.  We ordered the Cadillac.  That would be chicken fajitas with a lobster tail.  While we’re sitting there eating, we begin to discuss when we can see each other again.  She begins to reveal to me that she’s not in the mood to chase me.  I thought that was funny.  KG35 said she pursued me in the past and she would no longer do that.  We’ve had plenty of good times in the past but it wasn’t clear if that was enough to maintain either one of our interests.  Neither one of us want a relationship from the other, but we do enjoy each other’s company.  It’s at that moment when I realize she is gun shy.  She’s always accused me of being a player type, but was never ever able to confirm that feeling.  And don’t get me wrong, she tried to find out if I was.  After a 2 hour lunch, I walked her to her car.  It ended a little odd.  I gave her a hug and pat on her ass for old time sake.  Of course she smiled.  I didn’t give her a kiss yet.  With our chemistry, it seemed odd to kiss at the time.  Too soon, too quick.  Our plans are to do something in the next few weeks when school is finished.  I’ll wait to see if anything develops or feels different.  Maybe our time has passed.
