For all you that don’t know, I’m going to meet LisaQ from 40’s Singleness the last weekend of June. She’s going to be in Dallas and I’ve got the privilege of weekend date with her. Click here to get more details. The last couple weeks of conversation with LisaQ, aka LQ45, has been lots of fun. She has a great sense of humor. I usually spend most of the time laughing. Living in Kansas is so much different from living in a large city like Dallas. One thing that most of you probably don’t know about me is, I lived in western Kansas for 14 months.
It was my freshman year of high school and talking to her brings back a lot of those memories. There’s not many choices of things to do there after work or school.
Small towns have the usual bars, bowling alley, sonic, dairy queen and skating rinks (if you’re lucky). She doesn’t have the great Starbucks there. Damn! I think I’ll have to take her to Starbucks for my inaugural date with her. Nothing says ‘I like ya’ better than a $5 coffee. I’d hate for her to miss out on that experience, with me. HAHA! So here’s my next thought…. what does she want to do or see while she’s here in Dallas? I’m not sure what she likes besides drinking beer and listening to country music. Ok, maybe not country music. I know she listens to Chris Brown, so that’s a good start. LQ45 says she really doesn’t care. She just wants to have fun. Well, since this is Texas, we can drink beer almost anywhere. I’ve got a few ideas of some fun places to see. Maybe a concert at House of Blues. Maybe she will like seeing where JFK was shot at. Maybe she wants to see South Fork Ranch, where JR was shot. Maybe she just wants to tan at Hawaiian Falls or just shopping at Northpark, Galleria or Stonebriar malls. Nawwwww, I hate shopping. Or maybe just a good pub crawl on Greenville and McKinney Ave. So here’s my challenge to all my readers - I want to hear your ideas of what we should do. Give me 3 choices. The 1st one needs to be a tourist attraction, 2nd needs to be a shopping destination, and the 3rd is a club/night spots. I’ll only pick the ones that are the most exciting and interesting. I want to send her home with a smile on her face and ready for a couple days of sleep. If you’re not sure what she likes, go check out her site or ask her.
Post your comments, I’d like to hear your thoughts.

Tourist ( despite growing up in dfw, i am not much help here =x )
six flags - never too old for six flags!
Rangers game - i’m not a big baseball fan, but it’s always fun to hit up a rangers game now and then.
Shopping
galleria - can’t go wrong
Food
Reunion Tower - not the best food imo, but definitely a must if you’re looking to give an out-of-towner an experience to take back.
Night life
Greenville - yes, pub crawling on greenville is always a blast!
house of blues - new, fun. can’t go wrong
ft. worth stockyards -
not dallas, but still good times to be had there.
Ghostbar - High atop the W hotel, the ghostbar is classy w/ an unbeatable view, but you must be dressed to impress, and ready to pay $12+ for a crown and coke.
Concert/Event at Bass Hall - again, fort worth. The bass hall is very nice, and there are plenty of nice bars and places to eat around.
Day Life
Delaney Vineyards - located in grapevine. open 12p-5p. good wine, and a good experience.
local micro breweries - cheap, good beer, lots of fun. We have some good ones in the metroplex
Horseback riding - well, it IS texas…
Walking on the Trinity trails - walk, talk, get to know each other, and see some cool things along the way.
If you can’t tell, I’m in a hurry so I don’t have time to link. However, a quick google will return plenty of info on all of these ideas.

OMG that is so awesome that you guys are going on a date!!
You know the funny thing is .. that I’m from Australia, but i did just spend 10 days in Dallas like less than a month ago.
I know big state, but still!!!
Hmmmm so date suggestions … well its a bit of a spolier .. since Lisa you shouldnt know exactly what is being planned for the date!!!
I usually prefer my first dates to be fairly low key … but also a little bit interesting and unique.
So instead of going just for coffee and a movie or something, i dunno maybe visit an event that might be organized on the weekend.
Or like have a picnic and go for a drive to a place that has a really great view.
That way you guys can relax a little more … and have fun getting to know eachother.
Plus its always the company that matters!
