Saturday I spent part the afternoon working out at Lifetime Fitness.  Lifetime is one of those health clubs that is targeted towards family health.  Most of the gyms only have programs aimed at adults.  Lifetime has a lot of kids activities and summer camps.  So you can imagine how many kids are running out the certain parts of the gym.  I was sitting in one of the lounges, and I noticed two children playing.  There was a little boy showing a little girl a lot of attention.  He was helping her with all of her snacks and toys.  Every time she dropped something he would pick it up.  And of course, she was soaking this attention up.  Years later, life is basically the same.  Women love attention.  Women soak up attention like it’s a golden sun ray.

There have been occasions that I’ve been asked, “how can you find a date so easily?”  The answer is simple.  I do the simple things that women enjoy.  I spent my fair amount of time giving compliments to my date.  I’ve always been attracted to women with a beautiful eyes and smiles.  So it’s easy to compliment a woman on those qualities.  Every woman wants to hear compliments.  I’ve even heard Chris Rock say, “Women live for compliments, they LOVE compliments.”  I agree.  You have to tell them how great they look.  You have to tell them how wonderful her legs look in those shoes.  You have to tell her how beautiful her hair is.  You have to tell her how those jeans make her ass look small.  Ok, maybe not that last one, but you get my point.  I can’t think of an easier way to get a woman’s attention. It’s easy to look into her eyes and hold a conversation.  I don’t spend the whole time focused on her other parts of her body.  I spend time letting her know that I’m interested in spending time with her.  Women love the fact of feeling secure.  I’m not talking about the normal cave man factor, but I’m referring to them knowing if they need help.  It’s simple.  I spend time talking, listening and offering my help, if they need it.  I’ve been known to lend a listening ear.  Every woman wants someone they can tell their problems to.  That means you have to listen and sometimes not comment or judge.  Just listen.  My ability to make a unique connection with my date has allowed me to meet a variety of women.  I’ve asked a few of my past dates, “What do you enjoy about me the most”.  Nonsexual, of course.  They all mention our conversations.  Stimulating conversation is such a key to dating.  If a man can maintain a great conversation, he can stimulate much more later.  Once again, communication is a key element of successful dating.

Yes, you certainly have and you do it well. Women, unlike men, usually want just that…someone to listen. We don’t necessarily want someone to offer solutions or to try to fix things. We just need to get it out. It’s one of the ways we process.

Men, on the other hand, are problem solvers and, many times, they want someone to help find a solution. Women don’t think to do that because we understand that when we are talking, we are just looking for someone to lend an ear. It’s that whole Mars/Venus basic communication thing.

Bottom line…finding a man who can truly just listen and not try to fix things is a rare thing indeed and something that will definitely attract women.
