Yesterday I was having a conversation with a IDW reader and something interesting came up.? I have to say it’s a very unique topic of discussion.? My reader, a white women, has bi-racial children.? She?wanted to know?if I viewed her children dating as?automatic IR?Daters. ( interracial daters)? I can’t believe I didn’t ponder this subject before.? I’ve got 2 kids from a interracial relationship.? I deal with?IR topics daily and I?never thought of this.? So I want to?toss out some ideas and leave it open to my readers to comment on also.
I have totally different tastes in women than my 2 boys.? So their dating practices could be a variety of of choices.? With them having a black dad (me) and a white mother they could easily argue any date is a IR date.? That’s not my argument.? I’m leaning more towards going out of their racial makeup would be IR dating.? In other words, if they are dating someone of the same ethnic decent as either parent it’s not IR dating.? I would view them dating Latino, Asian, Indian, or even Brazilian as IR dating.? For me, I view IR dating as two people of two different?races dating.? That could create a lot of combinations.??It could be?a Cuban dating a Jamaican.? It could be a German dating a Italian.? I don’t care who my boys are dating, as long as they are happy.? The simple fact they might choose someone totally different from me or their mother will be up to them.
So I’m curious what everyone thinks… If?bi-racial kids date are they automatically IR daters by default?
