I Am Tiger Woods
Here’s something on the celebrity gossip chat level. In case you haven’t heard Tiger Woods is married to Elin. In case you haven’t heard, Elin is a beautiful Swedish ex-model. And just in case you didn’t know, she’s white and Tiger’s not. That makes them my celebrity IR topic of the day. Now, I’ve written about going to Europe to explore the interracial dating scene. I’m sure I would prosper in that social scene. I must say that I wasn’t surprised to hear that Tiger and Elin are expecting their second child. Actually, I would have done the same thing. Why?
**Dream Sequence Begins**
Imagine I’m Tiger Woods for the day. I’m at home and I’m off work. I can’t play my favorite sport, golf. I can’t do my normal work out routine. I am frustrated by my injury. I’m frustrated by my rehab of my knee. The only bright spots of my day is my beautiful wife, my daughter, my bank account and my fame. OK, there’s a lot of bright spots during my day. haha! Since I’m not spending all of my time traveling, I’m hanging out at home with my beautiful wife . The one thing that I can do now on a regular basis is make sweet monkey love (wild sex). Since I’m Tiger for the day, I’d have to explore everything I’ve never had time to do before. I’d make it a priority to use every room in my mansion and yacht. I’d go buck wild!
**Dream Sequence Ends**
OK, now that my dream sequence is over, I can address the real issue. I know that the European culture is a lot more accepting than the American culture is. But I wonder a few things. Did her family freak out that she was dating a black man? Did his security team see a angry white dad with a shot gun on the porch of the family home? Was he screaming, “get away from my daughter’? Or they were accepting and they were just happy. Who knows.
So here’s the scenario. You’ve never dated anyone outside of your race. You’ve never thought about it and you’re not a GOLD DIGGER. Is it easier to date/marry someone outside of your race that is RICH? Would it be easier to introduce your date to your family because he/her is rich?

One of best friends made the following statement last night:
“But she was a nanny…and she’s white”
At least she can take care of the kids I rest my case

My experience - I had never dated anyone outside of my race, I’d never considered it, and was not a golddigger. I don’t know if I’d consider him rich, but he had more money than I did. The experiences - entertainment and travel - initially made it more exciting to be with him.
“Is it easier to date/marry someone outside of your race that is RICH?” Probably easier to date - once you love someone their race and wealth aren’t as relevant. In the end, money solves some problems and creates others. “Would it be easier to introduce your date to your family because he’s rich?” It didn’t make it any easier; I was just more independent of their approval or disapproval.

but Tiger does have some white in him…hence the Caublanasian….so is he really an IR dater? I KNOW I KNOW it goes back to what you identify as and more so to what other people identify you as….
but on to your question….if it were me…and my parents…
I must say at this point in my life, I’ve done alot of work on them and they have made major steps in improvement…hell it’s been over 15 years, now…but I think that my parents can accept any one that I choose to bring over for dinner at their house…They absolutely LOVED one of my exes and he had a pretty shady past….My dad told him something rather profound…he said, “Son, as long as you love MY daughter as MUCH as I LOVE my daughter, you and I won’t have a problem. The minute you don’t love my daughter as I do then you need to move around.”…I think that it took so much for my father to say that to him…but in the end when it was time for us to split he quietly took his things and left…
Now, I’ve moved on from less thuggish men, and I really do believe that it is easier for my parents to accept…I do believe that class has alot to do with it…I think when I bring a man home that can truly support his household (legally) they think alot differently…
My family resents my “baby daddies” and feels that they have abandoned their family and responsibilities…they feel that I made poor choices….so, I think for a few years they got a bad taste in their mouths concerning the men I have been in a relationship with…So, I guess that a few bad apples made it much harder for the whole tree of good men…
I did notice a change in my parents attitude when I turned 30…I think it was a milestone of sorts…they finally treated and respected me as an adult…and with that came almost complete freedom to date whom I choose and they will accept them…but I must say in my 30s I’ve made better choices in men…so I think it’s a two fold issue…I think for my dad it’s just as he says…if you are a true man and you love my daughter and would go to the end of the earth with her, as I have done, then you are worthy of her love, and my acceptance….my step mother…she will typically “agree” superficially with my father, but may have a totally different story behind our backs…
but my parents consider a whole list of things when they evaluate my partner…his education, his income and economic status, his family background, his religious status, his appearance, his attitude, and most importantly how he treats me and my children…and I suppose they are resigned to the fact he WILL be African American

it wouldn’t matter to my family what color the man is, now if he’s just broke, I would have a problem with that. LOL.
no it’s not easier or any more difficult if the man is rich or not. he better know how to read well. marrying outside of my race is totally accepted.

After reading the above posts I forgot what the damn questions were…lol. Tiger is black and he found that shit out when they wouldn’t let his ass black at the golf course in Savannah several years back.
Now when it comes to his white wife, yes she is beautiful, I’m sure her parents were approving…I mean let’s be real, it was Tiger Woods, not just some black guy. Money and Fame definitely makes it easier for it to be more accepting.
I’m not hating on his choice, I mean let’s be real…how many sisters do you think there are on the golf circuit. I learned a very valuable lesson when dating football players…they didn’t prefer white women, white women just knew where to be and how to set themselves up to be chosen, period. Now that sisters have figured this out, the interracial dating thing has dropped drastically in the world of professional sports.

Well I will agree the white girls did do a great job of positioning themself to get the pro ball players.
Tiger’s wife is beautiful… but I just wonder how funny it would be if her family made it known they didn’t want her with a brotha… just to see how people reacted to it in public.

She’s Swedish right…well i’m not sure of the culture over there, but there were no black slaves in Sweden…so I’m not sure if there is a inferiority complex there like we have to deal with here in America.
Interracial dating is more accepting in Europe because class has very little do with race and a lot to do with birth. I don’t think it would be a big deal actually.
