When I was invited to do this round table with a group of fellow bloggers, I decided to take a creative and different approach.? As usual, I’m going to include humor along with my interracial twist.? I can’t say that I put a value on the typical virgin.? The idea of a typical virgin seems to be more of a over exaggerated practical joke.? As I watch movies like American Pie, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Porky’s, and even Super Bad, I realize that it’s just a bump in the road.? It’s a right of passage from childhood to adulthood.? I’ve written about a different type of virgin on IDW.? Some of you have sent me emails regarding the term BV.? What is it?? What does it mean?
The term refers to a brotha virgin.? A black man virgin.? This is a term that I coined one night on the town with a group of my friends.? I was at a sports bar after the Cowboys game.? I was exchanging phone numbers with a tall Texas blond.? I asked her if she has dated a black man.? She laughed and said, “no..I’m a virgin”.? The phrase BV aka Brotha Virgin was born.? Since that night the term BV has become a fixture in my vocabulary.
- She wasn’t a BV for much longer-
Since, I’m not in search of sexually inexperienced women (virgins) in my life, the BV is a thing of beauty in my opinion.? It signifies a woman who is looking/willing to explore her sexuality.? It signifies a woman who wants to try something different.? It doesn’t matter if she only wants to verify the mythical black lover.? I find it as one of the ultimate compliments.? It’s the fact that her 1st sexual experience with a black man will be with me.? She has trusted me to share/create a memory that will possibly change her perception of black men.? I will admit that it’s a sexual turn on.? It’s a turn on to know that you have taken her sexuality to another level.? I’m sure this might be similar to a typical virgin.? The only difference is, there’s a 99% chance that this will be a great sexual experience.
For all the ladies that have never heard of this, don’t be shocked.? Black men that date interracial think about this almost 100% of the time.? We have a habit of asking you about your interracial dating experiences.? The fact is, one sexual experience might confirm everything she’s ever fantasized about.? It’s possible that once she goes black…? Well you know the rest.
What kind of value does virginity have in society?? Webster defines value as, relative worth, merit, or importance.? Everyone places value on virginity in some form or fashion.? It may not be a moral or monetary, but there is a value.? When dealing with a BV, I’ve been known to take a few extra steps to make sure it’s a memorable occasion.? I will carefully choose background music.? I will strategically wear one of my favorite fragrances.? I will make sure the lighting in the bedroom is perfect.? I will even pour a glass of her favorite wine.? Mentally, I’m prepared to give her the sexual experience of a lifetime.? That means for the next several hours, I’m focused on pleasing her to the point of no return.? I value every minute of this experience.? I value the look on her face.? I value her expressions, her emotions, her pleasure and the memory that was created.
Do I enjoy dating a BV?? Yes.? Will I lower my expectations because she’s a BV?? No.
