This weekend is one of the best weekends to be in Dallas.? It’s a annual tradition for the last 103 years.? It’s Texas/OU weekend.? For all of those that don’t know, it’s a rival football game for the University of Texas vs University of Oklahoma.? This is one of the biggest rivalries in all of college football.? I love this weekend.? I’ve been celebrating my birthday on this weekend for as long as I can remember.? It always revolves around going to the State Fair of Texas, eating BBQ, cheering for Texas to win, and meeting the most beautiful women on the planet.? Yes, I said planet.
Over the years, I’ve heard all kinds of bets being made on this game.? I’ve heard people gambling money, cars, dinner, vacation trips, and even sexual favors.? It’s our Texas pride that makes this rivalry so intense.? I must admit that I’ve love this rivalry and I plan months ahead of time for this weekend.? This weekend gives the winner bragging rights for the next 12 months.? There have been years that Texas fans have it bad, because we’ve lost.
I’ve noticed there are plenty of bloggers that love their respective college teams just as much as I do.? Panama Jackson at VSB is a Michigan fan, which means he hates Ohio State.? Ed at Ed The Sports Fan is a Oklahoma Sooner fan, which means he hates us UT fans.? I’ve surfed the net and the love for our college teams are intense.? Everyone has a live or die attitude.? I totally respect die hard college fans.
I’m going to join the controversy that every UT fan discusses.? I must warn you, these are ACTUAL conversations.
Would you date/marry a Oklahoma Sooner?? Are you kidding?? In true Longhorn spirit, there are way too many beautiful Longhorn women to resort to dating the enemy.? Seriously, if you ever travel to Austin Texas, look around.? They practically breed Longhorn models there.? I even noticed the Longhorn women in San Antonio.? I promise you San Antonio is the capital of beautiful Latina women.? You won’t be disappointed.
Who would you date/marry 1st, a Texas Aggie or a Oklahoma Sooner?? Well that’s easy.? I’d have to date a Aggie.? At least an Aggie is from Texas.? At least they appreciate Texas pride.? It’s pure and simple.? It hard for me to see it any other way.
Would I convert to a Sooner fan if one of my kids are on a sports scholarship? (free education after failed attempts to get into University of Texas, and all other Texas universities)? hmmmm.. That’s almost a conflict of interest.? I’d have to wear all of my Longhorn underwear, socks, t-shirts, arm bands and flip flops that would allow me to counteract the bad mojo I’d receive for cheering for a Sooner. haha
So lets bring this to reality here.? Have I dated a Sooner?? NO!? Would/Have I had sex with a Sooner?? Yes, plenty of time.? Would I marry a Sooner?? NO.? I just don’t see that being in the best interest of a relationship.? If the perfect woman walks into my life, she would be a UT fan also.? I know to some people this is hard to believe, but it’s true.? I hold this college rivalry sacred in my heart.
So I have to ask, am I the only one who has this kind of passion for my college team?? Does this seem over the top?? Would you date/marry someone from a college rivalry?? Who is your college team?
Oh yeah, for all those Sooners….. HOOK’EM!

Unfortunately being a Texas fan in Oklahoma has its advantages.
Have i dated an OU fan yes. I even dated someone who plays for OSU. Would i ever marry an OU fan? HELL NO!! I will move back to Texas and find me a nice Longhorn fan to marry.
Would i date and Aggie fan, yes i would. Would i marry one, thats a big negative!
Would i convert to a Sonner fan if one of my kids got a scholarship? nope and i would disown them. hehe! okay i wouldnt disown them but no child of mine will go to OU!
I actually had the opportunity to go to OU for FREE this spring and i turned the offer down a couple days ago.. i tried.. i just cant make myself do it. lol

I’m a HUGE Florida Gators fan as I went to school there. Would I marry an FSU fan? Sure. In fact, I’m dating one right now and the relationship is going along swimmingly. Oddly, there are tons of “house divided” flags and bumper stickers around town, so it seems to be an old trend. Our rivalry is intense, but it’s downright savage when it comes to Tennessee or Georgia fans. I’d have to think twice about marrying into either of those houses.

I think it’s easier to accept a in state rival than a out of state rival. Out of state just seems too much like being a trader.

Me and the Girlz went to the Fair on Friday the day before the UT/OU madness…but there were plenty of fans there on Friday too…we had a blast and I was dead tired…the best was the fried corn-on-the-cob and the Texas Star after dark…lotz-o-fun!

Those too…I ate mine off of the girlz…they each got one…cuz see if I had gotten one they all would have tried to eat off me and I’d have an attitude!..I know that’s a double standard, but it’s 3-on-1…LOL
