She Has Bad Breath

by Eathan

While I was out last weekend, I had something strange happen.? It’s been years since I’ve had this experience.? I was with a few of my friends at a local night spot.? I was standing talking to some friends when I noticed a attractive blond.? She is 5’7″, thin, shoulder length hair, blue eyes, in her mid-30′s.? It didn’t take long before the two of us began to talk.? We had a great conversation, but something was wrong.

As I leaned over to listen to something she was whispering to me, I got a whiff of something that just about made me speechless.? Ughh!? I took a deep breath, turned my head and coughed.? I thought I was mistaken since the room was crowded.? So I waited a few seconds and leaned back in to continue our conversation.? This time the whiff turned into a full vapor scandal.? For the next 2 minutes of our conversation I would hold my breath and briefly turn my head every chance I got.

I thought it might have been body odor from someone walking by.? At first I wasn’t sure what it was, but it was her breath.? How could such a beautiful woman have bad breath?? Maybe she was sick.? Maybe she had sinus problems.? She didn’t sound like she was having sinus problems.? I’m still stunned.

So I began to think, how could your friends let you stand there without a breath mint?? Isn’t her female friends supposed to clue her in?

Normally when you think of someone having bad breath, you usually remember the jokes about men.? Men are the ones that don’t realize their fly is open, their socks don’t match, or they need a breath mint.? Women are usually the ones that always get a courtesy check by other women.? Women notice a tag showing.? They will tuck it in.? Women notice your shirt if you missed a button.? They even notice if you have a piece of broccoli in your teeth.? So why wouldn’t her friends tell her that she needed a Mentos?

The sad thing is as soon as I realized that I was smelling her breath, I lost interest.? Some how it crushed my image of what this beautiful woman smells like.? Even though I didn’t kiss her, bad breath made the thought of a kiss impossible.? I know that we all use our senses when it comes to dating, romance and love.? It’s normal for us to dress for the occasion.? We lotion our skin.? We spend hundreds of dollars on perfume and cologne.? Why?? To feel good.? To look our best.? To attract our potential mate.

Why would you go through all of that and stop short of a piece of peppermint?? Let’s just say you don’t know that your breath is bad, wouldn’t you want your friends to let you know?? Would you tell your friend about their bad breath?? Am I the only one that will let bad breath stop a conversation?

This is exactly why I carry gum in my purse and have it in my car too. I don't want to have bad breath ever but especially not when talking to a cute guy.
  • Well I hope you don't ever run out.. haha

Hold on. I'm not saying that I naturally have bad breath or anything just want to make sure..... LOL

haha..... I agree with you Eathan. If a woman's breath is stink, then it ruins even maybe the slightest chance she might have had. You never go wrong if you keep a pack of Altoids or Peppermints on you. Hell they've even got gum and mints that "kill bad breath germs".
  • Yeah they do. People with bad breath...know they have it.
  • This is like my g-string thing! I will walk away immediately!

If it was a gfriend I would tell her and then offer her a mint or make sure we find her one!

    Its YUKKY YUKKY YUKKY!

  • haha... you're funny. I was disappointed and shocked when it happened. I had to make sure my face didn't reflect my thoughts. ;)
  • That is so sad. Sad that her friends won't tell her and she missed out on meeting a great guy. Sometimes when breath is that bad, no mint can help! Could be something like an illness, or worse, diabetes, reflux, cancer, or liver/lung problems. Yeah, you don't want to date her, but her friends are doing her a disservice to her health and social life by not telling her! I've had friends that I've always offered mints to - every hour - and talked 'openly' about how crazy I am about teeth-brushing and my addiction to orange Listerine. They get the hint...

  • I did think about it being a illness... but in that case, she would already be aware of the issue. Mints and gum is as important as your perfume.
