Once again, I’m thanking all my readers & comment on IDW the last few days. It’s been overwhelming. I will say that over the last few days I’ve heard ever joke that Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor told about getting a STD. The one that sticks out in my mind is a quote from Eddie Murphy, “doc I’m pissing fire”.
I know that some of you don’t see the humor in a subject so serious, as most of the readers who know me personally, I have a sense of humor. And I approach everything with a smile on my face. I think even in the face of death I’ll tell a joke, laugh, smile and close my eyes. So enough of my mental state of mind.
One of the 1st things I did after the monumental night in question was call my doctor and attorney. Of course I called my doctor to make an appointment for a check up. I also contacted the Texas Department of Health and Dallas County Health Department. I wanted to find out what type of action was needed when someone doesn’t disclose their STD status. I know that last year a man in my town was convicted of unprotected sex with women after he was diagnosed with HIV. So needed to get more information. What I found out was disturbing. SR39 didn’t break any criminal laws. But according to several lawyers, she can be held liable in a civil case. Of course, there are several high profile celebs that have been sued for the same thing. So I’ve been exploring my legal options.
The other thing I’ve accomplished is getting another STD test. I normally go once a year, but under the circumstances I needed to go immediately. As I stand in the doctors office with my hands on my hips and my pants around my ankles, I can’t help but think about if I had used a condom or was notified, I wouldn’t be in this position. After the doctor used an seemingly, over-sized Q-tip to swab the inside of my male member (uncomfortable moment). I submitted myself to a blood test. I waited a couple days for them to tell me my test results.
I’m clean! HSV2 negative!
According to the doctor, I need to go back after 90 days to test again. The post 90 day test is 99% percent accurate of my status. At this point, I’m just happy to dodge a bullet, but I’m extra sensitive to any sensation in my lower region.
Yes, I’m mad at myself for not verifying SR39 current STD test results by viewing her latest test. But I’m more irritated that after all the conversations that she and I had, she didn’t feel the need to tell me.
As I stand in the mirror, I swear… I’ll never.. ever make this mistake again. I might not be so lucky next time.
