A few weeks ago I read an interesting article about interracial marriages. According to census figures, interracial marriages among American born Hispanics and Asians are slowing. The interesting thing is Black Americans are more likely to marry a white American more than ever. I was a bit shocked to find out that blacks are 3 times more likely to marry white than ever.
My biggest question was, who has the highest rate of interracial marriages?
“Hawaii had the highest share of mixed marriages, about 32 percent. It was followed by Alaska, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Nevada, which ranged from 15 percent to 19 percent. The bottom five states were Pennsylvania, Maine, Kentucky, Mississippi and West Virginia, each ranging from 3 percent to 4 percent.”

I know I represent N. Texas and can say there is are plenty of interracial couples and bi-racial kids. But I’m curious to know how often you see interracial couples in your area.
