Kiss Me You Fool!

by Jerri on June 12, 2009

Guest post from Jerri.  So …I have been kinda seeing this guy now. I like him. And he’s way hot …just one thing… he doesn’t like to kiss (!??!)  The first time we kissed, I initiated it and he claimed I almost took his lip off.  Afterwards I spent much time thinking he just wasn’t into me since he never kissed me and I didn’t make the first move again.

Guest post from?Priscilla San Remo.??For the last couple of weeks, I’ve been seeing one person exclusively. ?I wrote about his entrance into my universe in my last post, Dating Detox Update. ?I had finally decided to end an ambiguous and dysfunctional relationship to allow someone different into my life. ?No sooner had I made the decision than Opera Guy emailed me through a dating site and we wound up having a brunch date a week later. ?Eathan’s not the only one going international around here; Opera Guy is Indian, born in India and raised since the age of five in the United States.

Same Circus, Different Clowns Pt II

April 14, 2009

Today’s post is written by Priscilla San Remo. I’m not supposed to be dating right now, but since part of my Dating Detox homework is to figure out what I like in my dates, I decided to do a little window shopping. I hid my profile on Match (so I could cruise with impunity) and started looking at African American men

Doing the Dating Detox

March 31, 2009

Today’s post is written by Priscilla San Remo. Anyone who knows me is aware that lately the men in my world have been working my last nerve. There are those who get off with just a warning: the flakes who don’t call when they say they will; the agonizers who want to email indefinitely through online dating sites without ever making a phone call; and the fools who don’t read my dating profile and contact me anyway, regardless of how mismatched we are.

How Far Would You Go?

March 19, 2009

I received a call today from a friend of mine who is on vacation in Antigua. Like me, Anita dates mostly black men. She has had a few boyfriends since divorcing 10 years ago and moving in next door to me, but over the years she always went out with William, a black native Antiguan, whenever she was “down on the island,” which was at least three times a year

Get Out Your Boxing Gloves

March 12, 2009

Today’s post is written by Priscilla San Remo. We write volumes these days about how many advances have been made in interracial dating. We have social messaging platforms, online matchmaking services, and technology beyond our wildest dreams to facilitate the meeting up of men and women. But I’m here to tell you, all that progress aside, it’s getting mean out there.

When Good Goes Bad

March 11, 2009

Over the holidays this winter I had a new man in my life for a very short time. I met Bryce through an online dating site, which is not unusual for me. What was different was that he lives in the same town I do.

Before the Rains – Movie Review

March 3, 2009

Interracial love is often portrayed as forbidden, and the story of Before the Rains is no different. It’s not just race that makes the relationship between two of the main characters a challenge, however. The story is set in 1930’s southern India during the end of the British Raj.
