Vodka Soaked Tampons

I’m always comparing my teenage years to those of my son Alpha Boy.  I’ve gone through all the list of things that I remember.  I always think of girls and sex being the biggest topic of discussion.  It’s not.  The reason is, when talking about sex it requires another willing person.  Do I think he can talk his way into a girl friend and/or sex?  I have no doubt that he could.  But I’ve prepared him for that.  The other thing that I think about is drinking.  I remember being …

Mi Semana Loca aka My Crazy Week

Wow, this is the 1st week in a long time I feel like I’ve been on a emotional roller coaster.  It started on Monday.  Dirt Bike Boy has a problem with his teacher and ended up suspended for 2 days.  At first I was irritated.  I couldn’t believe my child was being so difficult.  I couldn’t believe that he wouldn’t follow directions from his teacher.  He needed to be punished and he was.  By Wednesday I understood what was going on.  I received a phone call from the principal to …

Adventures Of Dirt Bike Boy

Last week was a very hectic week with Dirt Bike Boy. It started out very relaxed with normal stuff. By Thursday, life took a turn for the worse. I got a phone call from my ex, to say there was a problem at the school. I needed to rush to the school to help with a discipline issue. I didn’t have a chance to get out the door when I got a second

Frisco ISD & The Open Door Policy

There are 3 thing I love in life more than anything else.  On the top of that list is my kids, Alpha Boy and Dirt Bike Boy.  I spend my evenings doing homework, 2nd grade math, spelling, and giving encouragement.  The problem that I’ve come to realize is, not all schools are created equal.  Not all teachers are created equal.  In this day and age it’s difficult to be a divorced parent that has an active part of your child’s education.  I can tell that public education has turned into …

Adventures of Dirt Bike Boy

The last couple weeks have been very uneventful with Dirt Bike Boy. After thinking about his behavior, I decided to make some changes to our life.  The most noticeable change is, I began to pick him up from school every day.  I decided the after school shuttle service was not needed.  The first day was a shock to him.  He asked me, “is something wrong?”  I had to laugh and told him I wanted to walk him home from school.  I could tell this made him wonder if he was …

My Son, Alpha Boy

I normally don’t write much about my kids, but lately they are providing plenty of stuff that makes me proud and laugh.  The latest comes from my oldest son, Alpha Boy.  I call him that because he wants to be #1 at everything he does.  He IS a over achiever.  With that being said, he is a student/athlete.  He’s 13yrs old and loves playing sports.  His main sports passion is football.  Over the last few years, I’ve worked very closely to develop his skills and mentally prepare him for all …

Differences in Parenting

Yesterday I had something very interesting happen to me.  I woke up to a phone call from my son’s mother.  She seemed in a bit of panic and upset.  Immediately I began to think the worst.  After a few seconds into the conversation I realized it wasn’t a life or death situation.  But it there is a problem.  My youngest son is only 7 years old and for the last 2 months he’s had a obsession with a dirt bike.  He has been on the Internet looking at pictures.  He’s …
